Gregory Dwight “Garfield” Bowman, a son, a brother, a father, a grandfather, and an uncle, passed away unexpectedly at his home in Knoxville, TN on June 9, 2021. Gregg was born on June 27, 1963 in New Tazewell, TN to his loving mother Ina Phelps Chambers. He was the best big brother and guardian to his two little Sisters when growing up. He was a member of Straight Creek Baptist Church where he was saved and baptized. He attended Claiborne County High School and later joined The United States Army. Gregg was an explorer and lover of life. His greatest accomplishments were his children and grandchildren. He was passionate, funny, and the most trustworthy man you could meet.
He is preceded in death by his grandparents Mr. and Mrs. Clarence and Elizabeth Phelps, his older sister Yvonne Phelps, and his brother-in-law Ricky Bridges. He is survived by his mother Ina Chambers, his sister Paula England and her husband Billy England Jr., his sister Elizabeth “Libbie” Bridges, his daughter Kristy Marie Faircloth (Travis), his son Mycah Eugene Tucker (Kim), his son Nathaniel David Ward, his much loved grandchildren Dylan Faircloth, Katelyn Faircloth, Hailey Marie Pridemore, and Lillian Grace Espinoza, his “favorite niece” Heather Hurst (Clayton) and great nephew Maxwell, and his nephews Blake Bridges (Sara and Brinlee) and Mason Bridges (Brittany, Lincoln, and Maya).
