Kenneth Dale Harvey

On June 4, 1947 in the community of Big Sycamore in Claiborne County, Tennessee a son was born to Silas and Rosie Harvey and they named him Kenneth Dale and he lived until January 8, 2013 when he fell asleep in the Lord. In February 1958 in a revival at New Bethel Missionary Baptist Church, Ken met the Lord as his personal Savior and he joined New Bethel Baptist Church where he remained a member until his death. On September 11, 1971 he married Joyce Ann Lane and to this union the Lord blessed them with 3 children.

In June 1978 he announced his calling to preach. He was ordained to the ministry on September 30, 1979. During his ministry he pastored New Bethel, PawPaw Grove, Bridgeport, Thorn Hill, Pleasant View and Oak Hill Missionary Baptist Churches. He was preceded in death by his Parents, Silas and Rosie (Smith) Harvey; Father-in-law and Mother-in-law, Roy and Marjorie Lane, Brother-in-law, Tommy Singleton. Ken always tried to practice and to teach by example to let God be first in your life and everything else will fall into place.

Several nieces, nephews and many friends that felt like family to him.

The family will receive friends from 4 until 9 P.M. Friday January 11, 2013 at Coffey Funeral Home in Tazewell. Funeral service 2:00 P.M. Saturday January 12, 2013 at New Bethel Baptist Church. Burial in the New Bethel Cemetery.
