

Retha Lamb Cook age 80 of Tazewell, TN was born September 11, 1931 and passed away Saturday morning May 12, 2012 at her home in the presence of her daughters and granddaughter. She was a member of Friendlies Chapel Baptist Church in Hancock County. Retha and her late husband Chester would open their home to Ministers and Gospel Singers for meals and fellowship on numerous occasions. Retha had a strong desire to work with young people and encourage them to get saved and be strong Christians. She also sang solos in church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Chester Cook of 55 years; her parents, John and Sarah Lamb, three brothers, Henley, Elmer and Johnny; two sisters, Dora Burke and Nancy Green.

Carrie’s Fiance’: Karl W. Velker of Nashville, TN
Sister: Mary Cross of Morristown, TN and a host of other relatives and friends.
The family will receive friends from 7 until 9 P.M. Tuesday May 15, 2012 at Coffey Funeral Home in Tazewell, TN. Funeral service 10:00 A.M. Wednesday May 16, 2012 at Coffey Funeral Home Chapel. Burial in the Cook Family Cemetery.
