Rody Evelene Cupp, age 73, of New Tazewell TN, was born June 2, 1944 and passed away on November 26, 2017. Rody was a devoted mother and loved to spend time with her grandchildren. She was a member of Young's Chapel Baptist Church. Her joy in life was singing and she would sing both in church and in nursing homes. Rody was an exceptionally strong woman who never complained despite a long battle with cancer and kidney disease. One of her favorite songs was I'm A Winner Either Way and it was true for her. Rody was preceded in death by her parents Andy and Janie Dyer, husband Carter Cupp, daughter Michelle Dyer and brother Herman Dyer. She is survived by her children Lisa Brooks of Tazewell, James (Sandy) Dyer of South Carolina and Christopher Cupp of Tazewell. Grandchildren Randall Brooks, Amber Alverson, Tiffany Lewis, Justin Dyer, Casey Dyer, Christa Cupp, Christopher Cupp Jr and David Cupp. Great grandchildren Aayden Bailey, Brayden Lockheart, Hastin Lewis and Neyland Lewis. Brothers Claude Dyer and James Dyer. Sister Roxie Crews. Uncle Hubert Fry. As well as a host of nieces, nephews, other family and friends. The family will receive friends Tuesday November 28th from 6 until 9 PM at Coffey Funeral Home. The funeral service will be Wednesday November 29th at 1 PM in the Coffey Funeral Home chapel with burial to follow in Irish Memorial Gardens.
