Steveon Dale Barker

Mr. Steveon Dale Barker age 64 of the Clouds Community, New Tazewell, TN passed away Thanksgiving evening November 27, 2014 at Laurel Manor Nursing Home with his wife by his side. Steve graduated from Claiborne County High School in 1968 where he had been very active on various basketball teams, various clubs and held numerous offices especially class president. He was an active member of Duncan’s Chapel Baptist Church until his illness prevented him from attending on a regular basis. Steve loved his church and served as assistant Sunday School Superintendent for 14 years. He was a devoted husband, father and papaw. Steve retired from the State of Tennessee Bridge Department and farmed. He loved sports especially his Tennessee Football. He was preceded in death by his parents, Ernest and Etta Lee Barker; father and mother-in-law, Dillard & Imogene Cupp.

He is survived by his loving wife of 36 years: Libby Maxine Barker

The family will receive friends from Saturday night from 6 until 9 P.M. at Coffey Funeral Home. Funeral service 2:00 P.M. Sunday in the Coffey Funeral Home Chapel. Burial in the Shoemaker Cemetery.
