It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Amadai Joseph "Joe" DeBaldo who passed away on Sunday, March 30th, in Temple Terrace, Florida. He was a cherished husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and friend who will be missed dearly. A native of Pittsburgh, PA, he graduated from Duquesne University and the University of Pittsburgh, and subsequently worked as a counsellor at the James A. Haley VA, Tampa, until his retirement March 31, 2014 at which time he received a Letter of Commendation for his exemplary service. He was married to Ann Christensen DeBaldo, a native of Stuart, FL, who worked as a professor of Public Health at the University of South Florida, until her retirement.
Joe was a kind, generous, lively character who lit up a room with his presence. He touched the lives of so many with his involvement in community programs. And he loved his birds and little dog, Shanti. To know Joe, was to love him.
A memorial reception will be held at Blount & Curry Funeral Home-Terrace Oaks Chapel,12690 N 56th St in Temple Terrace, FL 33617 on Sunday, April 6th between the hours of 11:00am to 2:00pm. Come to honour Joe, share anecdotes and enjoy food, drinks and the fellowship of those who knew him.
