Barbara was born December 19, 1937 in Troy, North Carolina, the daughter of Yancey B. and Georgia
Ruth Howell.
Barbara lived most of her life in Long Island, New York. Barbara was a devoted mother, grandmother
and great-grandmother. She was a Christian woman who loved God with all her heart. No one ever met
Barbara that didn’t like her; she was loved by all. She grew up in the era of roller skating and broadway
shows and oh how she loved her friday nights roller skating and spending her weekends going into the
city with friends to see the shows. She enjoyed the little things in life from a simple conversation to an
example of love or caring. She had the gift of telling you stories that made you feel as if you were there. In
her spare time she loved to read and entertain the elderly. Most of all she enjoyed spending time with her
family. She was a selfless woman who constantly put the needs of others before her own for the entirety
of her beautiful life.
She passed away early Saturday morning at the home of her daughter Kim who lovingly guided her
home.
Barbara joins her parents. Left to celebrate Barbara’s life are her daughters, Georgia Graziano
(Dominick), Barbara Delvecchio (John), Kim Marie Arndt (Jeffrey), Deana Locaso (Louis) and Kara
Pedone; her son, Peter Korelis (Rachel); her sister, Mary Hunton (Butch); 18 grandchildren and one
great-grandchild.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 2 PM, Saturday, February 5, 2022 at Blount and Curry, Terrace Oaks
Chapel, Temple Terrace.
