Carol emigrated from Jamaica to Mercerville, New Jersey, and later made her home in Tampa, Florida, in 1997. Throughout her life, she carried with her a steady devotion to the people and places she loved, meeting each new season with quiet strength and grace.
Carol worked as a Consumer Access Representative at Adventhealth Tampa, where she was well loved by her co-workers and respected for the care and professionalism she brought to her work each day.
In her personal life, Carol found joy in the comforts that make a home: time in the kitchen, the warmth of familiar music, and the simple pleasure of shared moments. She loved to cook—especially her Curry Chicken—and she enjoyed Gospel music. She also had her favorite routines, including tuning in to the TLC network and enjoying the show 90 Day Fiancé. Carol loved the beach, particularly Anna Maria Island, and above all, her family meant the most to her.
Carol is survived by her son, Shane Walton; her mother, Olive Scharschmidt; stepfather, Donald Scharschmidt; her brother, Michael Scharschmidt; her sister, Michelle Primm (Wesley); numerous nieces and nephews and by her Grand puppy, Carter. She was preceded in death by her father, Rudolph Brown, and her sister, Yvonne Saunderson.
The family will receive friends on Saturday, July 25, 2026, from 12 - 1 p.m. with a Celebration of Life beginning at 1 p.m. at Blount & Curry, Terrace Oaks Chapel, 12690 N 56th St, Temple Terrace, FL 33617.
