

Survived by his loving wife of 62 years Alice Irene Foody, three children; James Martin (Lisa) Foody of Tampa FL, Michael John Foody of US Virgin Islands, Edmund Joseph (EJ) (Mary Kay) Foody ll of Temple Terrace FL; beloved Poppy of Victoria Leslie Foody and Edmund Joseph (Trey) Foody lll of Temple Terrace; brother of Mary Stinson of Maryland.
Preceded in death by his parents Martin and Marie Foody and brother LT. James Foody who served in the US Marines and killed in the line of duty in WWII.
Born and raised in Lynn Massachusetts. Ed enlisted in the navy and served 4 years. Ed raised his family in Marblehead, MA. He owned 2 grocery stores in Lynn and Nahant. Ed and Alice retired to Florida in 1982. Ed continued to work in the food business at New England Fish Market, Fresh Market and Whole Foods. Ed was fondly known to all as the original FoodMan and The Cod-Father. He officially retired at 87 years young. Ed was a devoted husband, father and grandfather who was committed to his Catholic faith. Ed was also an avid golfer who took great joy in winning the annual Christmas Foody Hullabaloo golf tournament with his sons.
Visitation will take place Wednesday, 8/13 from 6:00p-8:00p at Blount & Curry in Temple Terrace. A Funeral Mass at 10:00 am on Thursday, August 14, 2014 at Corpus Christi Catholic Church.
