

Mrs. Elena Pombar a faithful Catholic community parishioner of Corpus Christie died on Monday, February 1, 2021. She was born in Ecuador on August 9, 1935 and moved to the United States in 1960. After her husband, Gaston Pombar, retired they decided to make Florida their home.
She is survived by her loving husband of 62 years and 3 sons each of which she was very proud of; Gus Pombar married to Suzanne, Xavier Pombar married to Jane, and Fausto Pombar married to Cathy. Elena is also survived by her beloved sister, Cecilia Camacho, who came to the United States with her around the same time period.
Elena had the responsibility to raise 3 boys while learning the American culture but still maintaining the best part of her faith and traditions. She and her beloved husband lived the American dream. Starting with almost nothing, Elena and Gaston were able to buy a home on Long Island and see their sons graduate with Masters degrees and one with a Medical degree. The 3 men were her pride and joy. She was blessed not only to see the birth of 7 grandchildren but also 5 great grandchildren.
Elena's wake will be on Friday February 5, 2021 at Blount & Curry, Terrace Oaks Funeral Home and Crematory located at 12690 N 56th Street, Temple Terrace, Florida 33617 in the hours between 6PM and 8PM. Her Funeral will be at Corpus Christi Catholic Church located at 9715 N 56th Street, Temple Terrace, Florida 33617 on Saturday at 10:30AM.
