Evelyn was the baby of a large family of 8 children. She relocated to Florida as a small child and resided there until her death. She attended local schools and graduated from Chamberlain High School. Evelyn met and fell in love with Mike Prado while still in high school, and they were married in 1963. Their prom picture still hangs in their home today. She was a long-time resident of Temple Terrace and lived in a house that she and Mike built together and raised their family. Her love of fashion and beauty was well-known, but it was her exquisite home that made her happiest. Skilled in all forms of cooking, sewing, and homemaking, Evelyn beautified all that she touched. In addition to being a wife, mother, and grandmother, she was a licensed real estate agent and a professional makeup artist. Evelyn was a woman of faith and enjoyed church services with the Pointer family. Her beauty was legendary, and she was loved and adored by many. She will be greatly missed.
Survivors include her loving husband of 61 years, Mike Prado; son, Michael Elwood Prado (Michelle); daughter, Michele Prado (Kenny Herock); stepson, Michael Moulton; sister, Brona Larder; sisters-in-law, Phyllis Miller, Yvonne Miller and Betty Miller; brothers-in-law, Manuel Prado and Oscar Prado (Barbara); grandchildren, Adrianna Araya, Alanna McCary (Luke), Michael Elwood Prado (Lacy), Kenny Herock Jr., Samantha Herock, Corey Varnadore, Chase Varnadore and Johnny McCary; and great-grandchildren, Aria Prado and Anthony Michael Prado.
A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date at the Columbia Restaurant.
