He grew up in Saigon, Vietnam where he spent time in the Vietnam military. After the Vietnam war, Franking met his future wife, Kim Nguyen, on Christmas day and it was love at first sight. Franking, along with his wife and son owned and operated a transport service. In 1988, he moved, along with his family, to New York. In his free time, Franking enjoyed shopping for clothes, gardening and working on cars.
Survivors include his beloved wife, Kim Nguyen; his children, Son Lam, Nga Lam, Van Lam, Lucky Lam, Loc Lam and Thao Lam; brothers, Khanh Lam, Beo Lam & Ho Lam ; 17 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren
Services will be held, 3pm, Sunday, March 27, 2022, followed by visitation until 7:30pm, and 9am, Monday, March 28th, followed by visitation until 11:30am at Blount and Curry, Terrace Oaks Chapel. Interment in Garden of Memories Cemetery, Tampa.
