George Edward Davis

We are announcing the death of George Edward (Ed) Davis, who passed away peacefully on August 31st, 2026 after a courageous battle with cancer. He is now in the arms of his Lord. Ed was a cherished Son, Brother, Husband, Father, Grandfather, and Friend.

Ed was a member of Terrace Palms Community Church for many years and often spent his Sundays working with the Children’s Ministry. Along with his wife Donna, he used the art of clowning to teach children about the Lord. He loved using humor to show others the joy that God can bring. He loved sports and faithfully cheered for his favorite teams, including the Tampa Bay Rays, the Buccaneers, and NASCAR driver Dale Earnhardt Jr. He was a huge fan of classic game shows like Family Feud.

Ed was born in Decatur, Georgia, on October 22nd, 1953, to George Herbert & Catherine Jane Davis. He was the third of four children, with older sisters Barbara Ann & Mary Catherine and younger Brother James “Bobby” Robert. Growing up, he was a rambunctious child who loved to play baseball. He attended Columbia High School, and later worked for GTE-Verizon as a cable splicer for over 30 years, where he made many lifelong friends. He is preceded in death by his parents, his sister Barbara, and his brother Bobby. He is survived by daughters Jennifer, Laurel, and Ashlie with his first wife, Constance, and stepson Chris with his current wife, Donna. He is a grandfather to Alex, Catee, Victoria, Caleb, James, August, and Ivy.

Ed touched many lives and will be missed greatly. His joyful spirit brightened the lives of all who knew him.

A celebration of life will be held on September 19th at 10:00 AM at Blount & Curry Funeral Home in Temple Terrace, Florida.

Instead of flowers, Ed would like to be remembered by a donation to Missionary Ventures International (Maitland, Florida) or a charity of your choosing. Those who are able to can also honor him by donating blood.
