George William Matthews

George was born on July 24, 1949, in Cleveland, Ohio, the son of William and Mary Fink. He married the love of his life, Janet, on August 19, 1972, in South Euclid, Ohio. George earned his degree from Kent State University and went on to receive his Master’s Degree from the University of South Florida. He most recently worked as a CPR Trainer for Clinical Solutions, where he shared his knowledge and helped others develop life-saving skills.

George was preceded in death by his parents, William and Mary Fink, and his sister, Doris Fink. He is survived by his beloved wife, Janet Matthews; his daughters, Noelle Monaghan and her husband Jason, and Deanna Azua and her husband Jose; his son, Christopher Matthews and his partner Trish Wu; and his grandchildren, Tyler and Renee Monaghan, and Noah Azua.

He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and friend whose presence brought comfort and joy to those around him.

A Memorial Mass will be held Friday, June 20, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. at St. Katherine Drexel Catholic Church, 1922 SW 20th Ave, Cape Coral, FL 33991, ph. 239-283-9501. The inurnment will follow immediately at Coral Ridge Cemetery, 950 Chiquita Blvd South, Cape Coral, FL 33991, ph. 239-283-0540.
