Hada Maida passed away Sunday, January 13, 2019, at the age of 90 years. Hada will be lovingly remembered by Joseph “Joe”, her husband of 70 years, her daughter Valerie Fernandez (Charles), grandchildren Tiffani Miller (Gabe) and Charles Fernandez II, and great-grandchildren Ryan and Lucas Miller. She is predeceased by her beloved brother, Angelo Ippolito.
Hada was born on October 2, 1928 in Tampa, Florida, to Nicola “Nick” and Evangelina Ippolito. She met her future husband, Joe, when she was 13 years old.
Hada was an active member of Corpus Christi Catholic Church where, among other things, she served as a lay minister, acted as an officer of the Council of Catholic Women, volunteered for St. Vincent DePaul, delivered Meals on Wheels and sewed and embroidered baptismal bibs and communion stoles for members of the parish. More than twenty years ago, she and Joe created and organized a celebration for the Feast of St. Joseph, which has become an annual parish event.
Her interests included gardening, travel, sewing and spending time with her large extended family.
A visitation will be held on Monday, January 21, 6:00-8:00 p.m., at Blount & Curry, Terrace Oaks Funeral Home, 12690 N 56th St, Temple Terrace.
A funeral mass will be celebrated on Tuesday, January 22, at 11:00 a.m., at Corpus Christi Catholic Church, 9715 N 56th St, Temple Terrace. Following a reception at the church, burial will take place at 2:30 PM, Florida National Cemetery, Bushnell Florida.
