

He was a graduate of Eastside High School in Patterson, New Jersey. After high school, he enlisted in the US Air Force on May 18, 1973 where he proudly served as a Master Sergeant until his retirement on July 31, 1996. He then went on to advocate for Veterans by working with the Veterans Administration where he assisted fellow retirees. In his spare time, Herb developed a passion for cycling, boxing, football and basketball. He was a loving family man and to his closest family and friends he was affectionately known as "Nature Boy".
He was preceded in death by his mother, Mary Sue Hannibal; his son, Herbert Hannibal; and his three brothers, Hank, Monk and Doug Hannibal.
Herb is survived by his sons, Timothy Hannibal (Claudia Trevino), Cornelius Hannibal and Adrian Hannibal; daughter, Kayoko Kennedy; sister, Evangelist Ada McKenzie; brother, Sam Rodriguez (Cissy); nephews, Chauncey Black (Danielle Garcia) and Jabarr Reames (Theresa Horne); cousin, Harry Norris; and granddaughters, Johannah Hannibal and Emi Kennedy.
Visitation will be held Tuesday, April 8, 2025 from 6 to 9 PM at Blount & Curry, Terrace Oaks Chapel, 12690 N. 56th St, Temple Terrace, FL 33617. A committal service with military honors will be held Wednesday, April 9, 2025 at 11 AM at Florida National Cemetery, 6502 SW 102nd Ave, Bushnell, FL 33513.
