August 16, 2019, passing of James (Jim) Calbert Campbell, DDS.
He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Frances Ann Leach Campbell, and their two sons, Gregory Allen Campbell and Christopher Lee Campbell.
Calbert was a native of Tampa, Florida. He graduated from Forest Lake Academy in 1959. After their marriage, he and Frances moved
to Tacoma Park, Maryland. While she taught school he finished his undergraduate work and in 1969. He graduated from the University
of Maryland School of Dental Surgery, then spent the next 40 years building and maintaining a successful private dental practice.
During the 1970’s and 80’s he and Frances enjoyed breeding
Great Danes and exhibiting them in shows around the country.
A highlight of this activity was having their Dane, Champion
Special-K Gribben, designated Dane of the Year by the AKC.
Calbert enjoyed all things golf - playing, watching tournament golf, and collecting golf memorabilia.
After his retirement, he and Frances returned to Tampa, where they enjoy the company of family and long time friends.
Calbert loved people and people loved Calbert. He will be remembered for his love of God, which he routinely displayed by genuine concern for his fellow man, and his tireless efforts to help improve the lives of all he came to know.
