Stanton, John Edwin “Jack”, 75, passed away Monday October 20, 2014. Born in Medford, MA on April 21, 1939 to Ruth (Staples) and John James Stanton. Jack considered Tampa his hometown having lived here for more than 60 years. He is survived by his loving wife of 44 years, Patty (Lloyd) Stanton and two children Christopher (Citlali) Stanton and Patricia (Phillip Jr.) Falcon, and brother Richard (Helen) Stanton. He is also survived by his two grandchildren who adored their Poppy, Phillip III and Isabella Falcon. After serving proudly in the US Marine Corps, Jack began his second career as a Local 1 Union plasterer with Bay Plastering where he worked for over 30 years. As a skilled tradesman and superintendent, his impeccable attention to detail helped shaped the skyline of much of Tampa, as well as Busch Gardens, Adventure Island, USF, and many more buildings across the state that he was proud to construct. While he was a man who loved working, he also greatly enjoyed his retirement years. He and his wife traveled to all 7 continents often bringing their grandchildren and family along for the adventure. His happiest moments were those spent with his grandchildren watching their numerous soccer and baseball games, dance recitals, school functions, or sleepovers at Nana and Poppy’s house. He was always fully present in their lives. Jack was an honest, humble, faith-filled, hard-working man devoted to his family and friends. He has numerous family, friends and neighbors that will miss him dearly. Services will be held at Blount & Curry Terrace Oaks Chapel on Friday Oct. 24, 2014 10:00 AM. Burial will take place at Florida National Cemetery.
