
Joseph E. Knab (89), passed away peacefully at the medical center of John Knox Village, Tampa, FL, on May 27. Joseph was born in Cincinnati, Ohio on November 8, 1926, the third son of Erwin Knab and Florence Lustenberg Knab. Joseph was employed by Walnut Hills High School in Cincinnati, Ohio as a history teacher and department chair for much of his career. During the last years of his life, Joseph continued to receive letters and correspondence from former students, many of whom had gone on to have professional careers as dentists, lawyers and doctors. Joseph is preceded in death by his life partner, William (Bill) Luke Duffey, brothers James and Jack, sister-in-law, Agnes (Hoppe) Knab, and nephew John Gary Knab. He is survived by his sister-in-law, Lorraine A. (Kidd) Knab, nephews James, John, Jerry (m. Teresa) Joseph F. (m. Nancy), Jeffrey, Jordan (partner, Michael Shaffer), Jack (m. Lori) and Joseph E. Knab (m. Barbara, deceased), and nieces Judy, Jenny (partner, Randy Howard), and Jayne Knab. He is also survived by 55 great and grand nephews and nieces. Memorial services and a Celebration of Life will be held in Tampa, Florida and Cincinnati, Ohio in the near future.
