Joy Marietta Dame lived her 47 years with profound love for Jesus. Her life was centered on her relationship with Christ and caring for her family. Joy loved deeply, was extremely loyal, never met a stranger, and loved helping those in need. Her purpose in life was clear to her and evident to all who encountered her. For her, to live was Christ.
She was an incredibly talented musician and songwriter and had a beautiful voice. Joy had a passion for worship and for leading others to worship Jesus. All of these gifts were tools she used to serve her Savior. Joy found purpose in discipling other women and helping them grow in the grace and knowledge of the Lord.
Joy loved being around water, whether at the beach or the lake, it was where she found refreshment. She was creative and had a wonderful sense of humor. True to her name, Joy brought sunshine into every room with her bright, beautiful eyes and contagious smile. She was incredibly spunky and kept everyone on their toes with what she would do next.
She adored her husband, Jeremy, and found so much joy and fulfillment in being a wonderful mother to Emmanuel and his soon-to-be bride, Eva, as well as Gabriel and Mickael. She was a tender and loving daughter, sister, and friend. Without effort, she profoundly impacted everyone she encountered.
Joy was born in Flint, Michigan, on April 17, 1978, at 5:00 a.m. She is survived by her beloved husband, Jeremy Dame, and their three sons: Emmanuel (and his fiancée, Eva), Gabriel, and Mickael Dame. She is also survived by her loving parents, Robin and Janice Richards; her sisters, Cassandra Sallis (and her husband Sean) and Candice Ham (and her husband Joshua); her brother, Aaron Richards (and his wife Leah); as well as her nieces, nephews, and many dear friends.
A Celebration of Life service will be held at Mission Hill Church on Sunday, August 24, at 3:00 p.m. Mission Hill is located at 10002 N 56th Street, Temple Terrace, FL 33617.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you donate in honor of Joy's passion for songwriting and worship to the ministry she began, Lake City Lights.
