SMITH, Joyce B., 84, of Lakeland, Florida, formerly of Plant City, died on September 20, 2025. She was preceded in death by her parents, Leon K. and Ester P. Bland. She is survived by her devoted husband of 40 years, Peter Smith; brother, Glenn Bland (Kumiko); nephew, Mark Bland; niece, Joyce Bland and niece's daughter, Mckenzie Meyer.
Joyce spent 3 years in the Navy where she learned her craft, photography, and later joined the University of South Florida as a photographer. She retired early to care for her mother. She was an avid artist as well as a photographer, painting landscapes and portraits. She loved gardening, nurturing butterflies and caring for many, many cats.
Joyce was a devoted Buddhist. A ceremony will be held at her residence, time to be announced.
