Dearest Family;
I am absolutely heartbroken to learn of  Kaynes passing.  I had the pleasure of teaching Kayne this past year in my computer science class.  He was the model student every teacher could wish for.  His  bright smile, gentle hello,  academic acumen and respectful for others made him that upstanding person.  Kayne was an 'A' student academically and  in integrity.  He was always willing to help others who struggled with the code.  It breaks my heart to know he will not be returning for the 2026-27, school year.   Please accept my sincere and heartfelt condolences on your precious loss. I hope you find comfort in knowing  he was well loved and respected.  I am also  praying that the Lord comfort you, strengthen you and cover you during this devastating  time of loss. 💔 😢 🙏🏽

I heard what happened with Kayne :(, he was a great kid and was always laughing, especially in the hallways. I never actually talked to him, but i saw him in the halls a lot, he was always smiling. Im deeply sorry for your loss and i pray for the Lord to watch over all his family and friends 🕊️❤️‍🩹

Kayne and I met in 6th grade at school he saw me playing clash royale on my phone and said hey I play that game too. I said how good are you and he showed me how many trophies he had. I said your trash and we laughed together and fought on who was better. We then kept talking non stop, kayne always made sure everybody always had a smile on their face and he would always have a bigger one
 He was one of the happiest people I ever met and every time I felt down he would bring me right back up. His joy for soccer was so great, he told me he would wake up every morning and play before school. his love was so great for the sport I knew he could have gone pro.  He was so kind that every room he walked in everyone would have a smile on their face he changed the world in a positive way, it won't be the same with out him. My heart is absolutely broken over the loss of Kayne.

For years, Kayne has been one of Kingston’s best friends. He wasn’t just a friend who came and went through different phases of life, he was one of those special friends who was simply always there. So many of Kingston’s memories growing up include Kayne, and it’s impossible to imagine that he is no longer here.

Kayne was truly one of the sweetest and kindest kids I’ve ever met. He was quiet, gentle, respectful, and had such a good heart. As a parent, there are certain kids you always enjoy having around because you know they are genuinely good people, and Kayne was one of those kids.

I keep thinking about all the years our families lived next to each other, watching these kids grow up together, and how quickly time passes. I never imagined we would be facing a loss this unimaginable.

My heart aches for his mom, dad, and sister. There are simply no words that could ever lessen the pain they are feeling right now. Please know that Kayne touched more lives than he probably ever realized.

Thank you, Kayne, for being such a wonderful friend to Kingston all these years. Thank you for the laughs, the memories, the sleepovers, the video games, bike rides, boat trips, shenanigans, and all of the ordinary moments that now mean so much more.

You were such a great kid and this world is a little dimmer without you in it. You will be missed more than words can ever express, and you will never be forgotten. We will always love you and carry you in our hearts. ❤️

Kayne and I met at gym. He came up to me and showed me a small croc toy of his. After that we talked and we started to talk more.  We then started to play games with each other.  We have been  friends for about a year.  The last time I saw him was at school and we even went to play at Dave in busters and we had fun. He was an awesome friend. I am going to miss him so much.

Kayne was an exception to every stereotypical characterization of teenagers. He was always kind, smiling, helpful, respectful, intelligent, talented, athletic… when I picture Kayne all I see is his vibrant smile and those perfect curls flopping around as he skipped through the hallways surrounded by friends. I’m not a teacher in a classroom, but work the main office. Kayne was always a bright light when he came through. Burnett will not be the same without him. My heart is heavy for the family and friends closest to Kayne.

Kayne was a massive part of our family. He was like a brother to me. I have known him since I was in kindergarten and he will always be remembered. He would go see any movie with us even something involving a princess, because of my little sisters. He didn’t care, because it made them happy. And that’s the kind of person he was, always caring about other people. I love him and will miss him always.

Kayne lived out his life showing his heart of gold.  In 6th grade science he never took part in putting someone down and could always be counted on to help someone.   He was just as consistent when playing sports.  
Kayne, you will surely be missed here.  Asking Jesus to give peace to his parents, family, and friends when nothing makes sense.

If someone had foretold that I would be writing about Kayne, I would have told them it was impossible. How do you write something, you should never have to write? When I first met Kayne on the soccer field, he appeared shy and reserved, but he quickly formed a friendship with Gunnar and began to showcase his personality. Kayne had an extraordinary ability to illuminate the soccer field merely by attending and smiling. His smile lit up his whole face, it was sight to see. Whenever Kayne participated in a game, everyone, including myself, became enthusiastic. I will never forget the moment he scored his first goal with our team, as his confidence was truly inspiring he loved the game. Furthermore, I recall when he obtained new glasses that were bold and characteristic of his personality, they were so him. Our family developed a close bond with Kayne and feel blessed. You know how certain individuals can profoundly impact your life, leaving you with a lasting desire to support them, and that was precisely the effect Kayne had. Being his soccer coach was something I never took lightly. My life is forever touched, my kids lives are forever touched. My heart is broken, my kids hearts are broken. If Kayne was sitting next to me right now, I would tell him to score that goal up in heaven and flash that killer smile.

Some students leave a lasting impression on your heart, and Kanyne was definitely one of them. 💙 I had the pleasure of teaching him in my 6th grade reading class, and he was a very sweet and smart student. I honestly can’t remember a time I had to correct his behavior. During our last conference night, even though he was no longer in the 6th grade hallway, he asked his mom to bring him by my classroom just to visit me. He told me I was one of his favorite teachers, and that moment meant more to me than he probably ever knew. I was so appreciative to see him, and I will never forget him. Sending big hugs, love, and prayers to his family during this difficult time.

Kayne was in my first grade class. I am absolutely heartbroken to hear the news. He and his family were some of the most wonderful people I’ve ever had the pleasure of knowing. Holding the entire family in my heart and praying for strength and light during this dark time. Rest easy, sweet Kayne.

Kayne was Burnett’s student of the month for April 2026, a gift from God of the Wolfpack family! We are deeply saddened by the passing of Kayne Simmons, a valued member of our Burnett Middle School family. Kayne’s presence touched the hearts of students and staff alike, and he will be remembered for the light he brought to our campus. During this difficult time, we extend our heartfelt condolences to his family, friends, and all who knew and loved him. Me and kayne has knew eachother since 6th grade. We had the same math class and became bestfriends. He always made sure that i and everyone had a smile on there face, and try to make everyones day better. He was such a sweet, kind, and amazing boy. I could never ask for better bestfriend. Man kayne was one of my best of friends when I heard the news I didn’t believe one bit. Even tho we didn’t hangout or talk outside of school we were still close. He was a funny and kind caring person that you could always talk to when you needed somebody. Playing soccer with him in gym was the good times. And in evolve with him laughing every second. Me and kayne talked but we weren't close, I had classes with him and he was a Kind hearted sweet person and he always had a smile on someone's face. He was so smart. he would always help me and others with are work, and i'm very sorry for what his friends and family are going through. Kayne was one of my greatest students in my English class. Smart, kind, compassionate and always there to help others when needed. He was a social butterfly who made friends with anyone. He’s loved by his friends, family and teachers. I will pray for the repose of the soul for Kayne.

Kayne was the only friend I made sure Robbie stayed in contact with. Thank you for being such a good friend, we love you sweet boy

What a gift it was to be just one of the many who were witness to the loving bond between son and mother.

This is back when me and kayne became friends, best friends. Me and kayne have been friends since the first grade. I miss him every day and think of this time when we were so close to eachother as friends, I would go over to his house and we would have a blast. I wish he would be here with us today still but at least he’s in peace. He will always be a good friend to have and keep.  He brought so much joy to my life and to think of him as a best friend was amazing.
