

Kenneth M. DeVane passed away on August 25, 2026. He was 81 years old. Survivors include his wife, Mindy; son, Forrest (Tiger) ; daughter, Tasha and son-in-law Kevin; grandson, Wyatt; sister and brother-in-law Ali and Mike Kennedy and nephews Casey and Gregory.
Ken was born in Santurce, Puerto Rico to Hilda DeVane (nee Prieto) and Kenneth R. DeVane and moved to Florida when he was 3 months old. He wasn’t born in Tampa, but lived there for most of his 81 years.
Ken went to Hillsborough High School and graduated with the Class of 1963. After high school he attended classes at St. Petersburg Junior College.
As a young man, he married Barbara Jo Myrick and they had two children, Forrest (Tiger) of Brooksville, Florida and Tasha Riggle of Zanesville, Ohio.
Ken had many interests. He loved to hunt and fish. He was wild about racing and worked with Dave Heinz and Bob Johnson on the Corvette racing team. One of his proudest moments was visiting the Corvette he worked on, Number 57, in the Corvette Museum in Bowling Green, Kentucky.
Ken worked for South Florida Engineering and traveled around North and South America selling custom trucks. After he met Mindy, he passed a series of exams and became a stock broker. Ken married Mindy in 1993
In 2001, Ken and Mindy opened DeVane Financial Advisors and after many years of running a successful business, they sold it to Ameriprise in 2015. In his part-time retirement, he kept busy by being a consultant to a biotech company.
Ken loved people and never met a stranger. He had many close friends and business associates. He will be greatly missed by his friends and family.
