Lisa Denise Hendricks age 63, daughter of the late Wayne A. and Alvilda Wheeler, was born July 29, 1960, in Brooklyn, New York. On Wednesday January 10th, 2024, Sister Lisa Hendricks transitioned to eternal rest.
“For we know that if our earthly house of this tabernacle were dissolved, we have a building of God, an house not made with hands, eternal in the heavens. Therefore, we are always confident, knowing that, while we are at home in the body, we are absent from the Lord. We are confident, I say, and willing rather to be absent from the body, and to be present with the Lord.” 1Corinthians 5:1,6,8.
Lisa was educated in the public school system of Queens County, New York. During her middle school years, she was in the Gifted Children program and a member of the Navel Sea Cadets program. After receiving her High School diploma, she was employed by the U.S. Social Security Administration in New York.
Lisa was joined into holy matrimony with Bryan L. Hendricks on Sept. 27th, 1986. This union produced four children, the late Bryan K. Hendricks (Feb. 28th, 1982-March 3rd, 1982), the late Brittany S. Nicole Hendricks (Sept. 9th, 1987-Dec. 14th, 1987), Ashley Buggs (Jemiel) of Tampa, FL, and Alea Hendricks of Tampa, Fl.
In 1987 she moved from New York to Summerville S.C. While there she became a member of Greater Faith Church under the leadership of Rev. Dr. Nehimiah Bryant and was a faithful member. She and her family moved to Tampa, Fl in 2001, building a circle of friends in the community. Lisa built a life in Tampa, becoming employed as a cashier at several retail stores. She enjoyed spending time with her precious grandchildren, was an avid reader, and enjoyed cooking.
She leaves the following loved ones to cherish her memories: loving husband of 37 years, Bryan L. Hendricks; daughters, Ashley and Alea; grandchildren, Jemiel, Cameron, Malik, and Zahra.
