Maria Alvarez

Maria was a devoted Mother and Grandmother. Her family was her entire life. Whether volunteering at her children’s and grandchildren’s school or being at the sports fields, hockey rink or swimming pool, she was always with her family supporting them and cheering them on. Family dinners, especially during the holidays, were very important to Maria. She loved Noche Buena and would make an amazing puerco and arroz con gris. Her presence will be greatly missed by her family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Joaquin Lopez.

Survivors include her loving husband of 53 years, Rafael Alvarez; daughter, Cristina Martinez (Anthony); son, Rafael Alvarez (Heather); and grandchildren, Joseph and Christian Martinez and Elijah and Juliana Alvarez.

The family will receive friends from 9 - 10:30 am, Friday, May 30, 2025 at Blount & Curry, Terrace Oaks Chapel followed by a Mass of Resurrection beginning at 11am at Corpus Christi Catholic Church. Interment in Garden of Memories Cemetery.
