Mary was born on July 8, 1950, in Cherry Hill, New Jersey, to Joseph Aloysius Daley Jr. and Dolores Martha Lane Daley, and grew up in North Palm Beach, Florida. She graduated from Florida State University, where a semester abroad in Florence, Italy, inspired a lifelong love of travel and art.
Mary began her career with Eastern Airlines, where she met her husband, Christopher Brian Scully. They were married on September 26, 1981, and celebrated their 45th wedding anniversary less than two weeks before her passing. After Eastern Airlines ceased operations, Mary joined USAA, where she worked until her retirement. During her years there, she participated in many volunteer efforts, including The Spring Women's Shelter, Junior Achievement, and United Way.
Mary loved sewing, cooking, and traveling. Her favorite destinations included Italy, Germany, Colonial Williamsburg, and Switzerland, where she and Chris spent their honeymoon. She collected art and devoted herself to researching her family's history. Above all, she treasured the time she spent with her grandchildren.
She is survived by her husband, Chris; her daughters, Shannon Clare Hubert (Brian Daniel Hubert) and Alice Kathleen Verble (Austin Allen Verble); her grandchildren, Killian Joseph, Clare Maureen, Jameson Christopher, and Fiona Kathleen Hubert; her sisters, Eileen Daley and Dolores Jaworski; her brothers, Joseph Daley III and Kevin Daley; numerous beloved nieces, nephews, and cousins; and many dear friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her sister, Joan Anderson.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Tampa, Florida, on Tuesday, November 10th, 2026, at 10:00 a.m., with a wake to follow at Molly Malone's Irish Pub on Davis Islands.
