Monica Venezia, 73, of Hudson, Florida, passed away on July 12, 2026. Born March 1, 1953, in Buenos Aires, Argentina, Monica carried with her an enduring appreciation for beauty, memory, and the quiet details that make a life meaningful.
Throughout her life, she expressed herself with a natural artistry—finding joy in drawing, photography, and the timeless elegance of black and white movies. Her love of history reflected a thoughtful spirit and a deep respect for the stories that shape families and communities. In the simple, steady care of gardening and in the affection she showed as an animal lover, Monica’s gentleness and attentiveness were evident to all who knew her. Above all, Monica loved her family, and she held a special devotion for her grandchildren.
Monica is survived by her husband of 17 years, Juan Estela; her children, Michael Venezia (Beth), Jason Venezia, and Mary Beth Kirby (Jeff); her sister, Grace Lanning; her brother, Roberto Sanchez (Kathy); and her grandchildren, Braeden Kirby (Savannah), John "Jack" Kirby, Charles Kirby, and Samuel Kirby.
She was preceded in death by her father, Roberto Sanchez; her mother, Nelly Sanchez; and her ex-husband, John "Jack" Venezia.
Visitation will be held at Blount & Curry, Terrace Oaks Chapel, 12690 N. 56th Street, Temple Terrace, FL 33617, on Monday, July 20, 2026, from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm.
A Mass of Resurrection will be celebrated at St Mark the Evangelist Catholic Church, 9724 Cross Creek Boulevard, Tampa, FL 33647, on Tuesday, July 21, 2026, at 10:00 am.
