Morton Gilbert Nathanson, 94, passed away on September 7, 2025. He was born in Brooklyn, NY. He served in the U.S. Army in Panama, where he met the love of his life, Judy. Their 72-year marriage was the foundation of a life well lived.
In 1959, they settled in Tampa, FL, where Morty worked as a lab technician at Anheuser-Busch. His love for travel took him to 37 countries during his lifetime.
Morty was predeceased by his parents, Harry and Sally Nathanson, and his son-in-law, Enrico Gonzalez. He is survived by his wife Judy (Velasquez); children Dr. Richard Nathanson (Catalina), Carol Savel (Dr. Greg), and Lisa Gonzalez; cherished grandchildren Lena and Enrico Gonzalez, and Dr. Mackenzie Savel; sisters Joan Fries (Donald) and Karyn Katcher; brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews and cousins.
Morty will be remembered for his love for his family. His stories, songs, and spirit will live on in all who knew and loved him.
A committal service with military honors will be held at 2:30pm, Friday, December 19, 2025 at Bay Pines National Cemetery, 10000 Bay Pines Blvd, Bay Pines, FL 33744.
