HACKNEY, Opal Mace, age 84, departed this life on February 29, 2016 in Tampa. She was born to Reverend Cecil Mace and Myrtle Tolley Mace on March 4, 1931, in Kanawha County, West Virginia. She is survived by her loving husband of 65 years; Dr. Clinton Hackney; two children, Michael (Nancy) Hackney and Erma Mullenax; an adopted daughter, Joan K. Stilger; five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her son, Carlos. Mrs. Hackney was a long-time, active member of Temple Terrace United Methodist Church, where a funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m., Saturday, March 5, 2016. Visitation will be one-half hour prior to the service. Interment at Memorial Park Cemetery, St. Petersburg. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Temple Terrace United Methodist Church.
