Alice Patricia "Pat" Wells McGee, 87, passed away peacefully on September 7, 2025. Born on March 31, 1938, in Tampa, Florida, to the late Tullis Wells and Mary Stone Wells, Pat lived a life dedicated to helping others and spreading beauty through her love of flowers and her daily actions.
A 1955 graduate of Hillsborough High School in Tampa, FL, Pat split her time between her beloved hometown of Tampa and Franklin, North Carolina. She was raised as a Christian and later converted to Catholicism, living her life according to her faith. She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Mack L McGee, her parents, and her sister.
Pat's entrepreneurial spirit and passion for beauty led her to operate Alice in Flowerland, a flower shop that brought joy to countless customers. However, her most significant legacy lies in her philanthropic work as the co-founder of Alpha House of Tampa, a non-profit organization that continues to serve the community today.
Known for her kindness and unwavering belief in the goodness of people, Pat followed in her parents' footsteps by opening her home to those in need. She had a great sense of humor and enjoyed playing pranks on people. She loved good food, never passing up a dessert, and found joy in the simple pleasure of shopping - never missing a good bargain.
She is survived by her children: Dean McGee (her late daughter-in-law Tanya), Vicki Johnson (Robert), Kelly McGee, Scott McGee (Daisy Hermanns), and Eric McGee (Sari Kauppinen-McGee); her grandchildren: Todd McGee, Shelly Ros (Ricky), Kaitlyn Baldwin (Landis), William Hermanns, and Nicholas Hermanns; and her great-grandchildren: Reina Baldwin and Jaiden Fields. She also leaves behind many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
A memorial service will be held at Myrtle Hill Cemetery on October 4th, 2025, at 11:00 AM to celebrate Pat's life and legacy of compassion. Following the service the family will be gathering at 8424 White Poplar Dr. Riverview, FL 33578-8634 for remembering and celebrating her life.
