

Dr. Phillip E. Bainbridge, Jr., of Tampa, Florida, formerly of Munster, Indiana, Carmel, Indiana and Mequon, Wisconsin passed away on Sept. 25, 2015 after a short courageous battle with cancer. He was 48 years old. He was born March 16, 1967 in Hammond, Indiana. He was a 1985 graduate of Carmel High School. He graduated 1989 from Tulane University with a degree in Biology. In 1993 he graduated from Indiana University School of Medicine with a specialty in radiology. He was professional, ethical and cared a great deal about medicine and the care and wellbeing of others. Phillip belonged to the Sigma Chi Fraternity. He enjoyed fishing and science fiction and historical books and movies. He liked to tell friends that he saw the original Star Wars movie nine times. He had fun quoting dialogue with his siblings from The Three Stooges, Nopolean Dynamite and Caddy Shack movies. He enjoyed playing golf and always chose to walk instead of using a cart. He was devoted to his wife, Suzanne, the love of his life. He loved to spoil and spend time with his daughters. They gave each other an enormous amount of pleasure . They were his life. Phillip was described by those who knew him as a gentle and kind soul. He was full of love, compassion and generosity. He had integrity, a sense of humor and a wonderful smile. His heart was large and held room for everyone he met and as the poet William Blake wrote “If a man loves he is infinite”. Phillip always said the if he could be any creature on earth that he would be an eagle. Now everytime you see an eagle in the sky try to imagine that it is Phillip watching over those he loved. Phillip is survived by his wife of 23 years Suzanne, daughters Jennifer 14, Stephanie and Christina ages 12, father Phillip, step mother Sally, mother Caroline Norris Hodowal, stepfather John Hodowal, brothers Jonathon and Mark, sister Katharine, grandmother Stella Bainbridge, and numerous uncles, aunts,nephews, neices and cousins. To celebrate Phillip’s life the family invites you to share with them at Blount & Curry, Terrance Oaks Chapel, 12690 North 56th Street, Temple Terrace, Florida. October 17, 2015 from 4:00-6:00 PM.
