It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Premnauth Singh, also known as Ramo, Ramnauth, or Lil. Ramnauth was born on November 10, 1947, in Whim, Berbice, Guyana, and transitioned out of this life on June 17, 2026. Through his journey of 78 years, he touched many lives with love, humor, and an unwavering spirit of perseverance.
His remarkable life was a testament to courage, determination, and an unyielding spirit. Seeking a better future for his family, Ramnauth left Guyana in 1978 and settled in Brooklyn, New York. In 1996, he pursued a lifelong dream by moving his family to Tampa, Florida, where he and his wife successfully owned and operated Abellas Sandwich Shop for nearly 20 years. After retiring in 2015, he enjoyed traveling, including fulfilling a lifelong dream of visiting India. In December 2020, he was diagnosed with early-onset Alzheimer’s disease. Though the illness slowed him, it never diminished his strength, spirit, or love for life.
In addition to his parents, Chatterpaul and Sukhia Singh, Ramnauth was preceded in death by sisters Nellie Jailall, Rose Gurdial, Masie Ramdeen and Pulbas Kentolall, and younger brother Ramdat Singh.
Ramnauth is survived by his loving wife Sattie, his children, Shantie (Navin), Kavita, Deepa (Omar), and Rudy, his grandchildren, Erick (Samantha), Christine, Austin, Ayden, Kayla, Dylan, and Riya who were lights in his life. He is also survived by his loving siblings, Harry Singh, Pulo Dat, Rajo Singh, and Kalie Doodnauth.
Ramnauth leaves behind so many special relationships with all of his nieces and nephews, who not only looked at him as an uncle but also as a friend and at times, a father figure.
Ramnauth’s legacy lives on through the family he cherished, the friendships he nurtured, and the countless lives he touched with his kindness, humor, and determination. While his presence will be deeply missed, his memory will remain forever in the hearts of those who knew and loved him. Family and friends are invited to join in celebrating his life and honoring the remarkable man he was.
