Robert Gelpi Danforth, affectionately known as “Bob,” passed away on March 25, 2026, in Tampa, Florida, at the age of 79. He was born on January 11, 1947, in St. Louis, Missouri, to Herman and Ruth Danforth.
Bob built a long and respected career as a CAD designer, working as a contractor on a wide range of projects throughout his life. He was known for his skill, creativity, and dedication to his craft.
Outside of his professional life, Bob was deeply engaged in his interests and community. He was a proud member of the Society for Creative Anachronism and a founding Silver member of Kaze Thunder, a clan of the United Households of Rolling Thunder within the organization. He had a passion for technology and creativity, often spending time on his laptop keeping up with the news and following progressive politics—especially enjoying commentary from Keith Olbermann.
Bob also found great joy in working with his Glowforge laser cutter, creating unique pieces such as jewelry and other detailed items. His creativity and curiosity were evident in everything he made.
Above all, Bob treasured the time he spent with those he loved. He shared a special bond with his partner, Pamela Fiske, and together they enjoyed many happy moments, including dinners at their favorite restaurant, Little Saigon in Orlando. He also cherished his friendships and the many connections he made throughout his life.
Bob is survived by his loving partner, Pamela Fiske; his sisters, Elizabeth Danforth and Louise Muenstermann; his dear friends, Linda Evans, Henry and Marjorie Kuczwara, Charles Polk and many extended family members and friends who will forever hold his memory close to their hearts.
He will be remembered for his creativity, intellect, and the genuine warmth he shared with those around him.
There will be a private Celebration of Life at a later date.
