

Robert was a proud American and it was his great honor to have served in the United States Army. He had a BIG personality and an even bigger heart. If you knew him, then you loved him. He never met a stranger and made everyone feel special. Robert had a strong faith in God and we all know that he rests easy now in heaven.
He was preceded in death by his parents Robert & Sarah and siblings Chuck & Steve.
Survivors include his loving wife Wendy Douglas-Meredith; daughters Sarah, Lacey & Rylan; son Robert III (Amy); 10 beautiful grandchildren; and siblings Kenny (Victoria), Susan (Larry), Anita (Mike), Ricky, Jaime, Jan (Dean), Jennifer, and John.
A committal service with military honors will be held at the Florida National Cemetery, 6502 SW 102nd Ave, Bushnell, FL, on Tuesday July 8th at 10:30am. Family and friends are welcome to attend the service. There will also be a dedication and reception after the service at East Point Assembly of God, 5337 Garden Lane, Tampa, FL, from 12pm-2pm, all are welcome to attend.
The family of Robert wish to extend their sincere gratitude to the remarkable nurses, doctors, and other caregivers at James A. Haley Veterans Hospital.
In Lieu of flowers, simply go live your best life. Robert would suggest having a cold beer and a peaceful drive in the woods.
