Sylvia Dahlia Tagliarini

Sylvia Dahlia Arias was born in Tampa, on September 26, 1936, to Asia Cueto Arias and Modesto Arias. Married to Frank D. Tagliarini (divorced) she is survived by her four children and their spouses David Tagliarini (Jerry Cantrell), Gianna Tagliarini Caravella, (Joe Caravella), Andrea Tagliarini (Robert Vanderlinden Jr.) Frank Tagliarini, (Kara Bogden) and daughter-by-choice Hope Gervais. Pre-deceased by her sister, Violet Seoane (Manuel Seoane), she is also survived by her three nephews Manuel Seoane, Mitchell Seoane, Michael Seoane (Krista Seoane), first cousin Eleanor Leone, and pre-deceased by Mark Seoane (Kathy Seoane).

Sylvia was blessed with 13 grandchildren Chris Cantrell, Alex Cantrell, Gillian Finklea, James Caravella, John-David Finklea, Francesca Caravella, Dara Lisicki, Ayla Tomlin, Brittany Vanderlinden, Alyssa Tagliarini, Addyson Tagliarini, Maddox Grayauskie, and Quinn Grayauskie. Most recently she welcomed her great-grandson Kai Tomlin and was also expecting her second great-grandson in less than a month.

As a Tampa native, Jefferson HS graduate, HCC graduate, and proud member of The Italian Club and Krewe of Italia, Sylvia leaves behind hundreds of extended family and friends who loved her dearly. Sylvia lived every moment to the fullest. After raising her four children, she returned to school to earn her AA in Psychology and traveled extensively throughout Europe and other parts of the world. An eternal optimist, one of her favorite sayings during challenging moments in her life was “This too shall pass!”.

Sylvia loved the music of Tom Jones, Elvis Presley, and Frank Sinatra. Her favorite song by Sinatra became her anthem for life; and if you knew Sylvia, you know that she always said that she lived her life “My Way”.

A celebration of Sylvia’s life will be held at The Italian Club Cantina on Sunday, 10/10/2021. The event will begin at 4:30pm with a memorial salute to Sylvia’s life at 5:30pm. In lieu of flowers please consider a donation to Sylvia’s passions - the ASPCA or the Humane Society of Tampa.
