Vera J. Tharpe

Vera Joyner Tharpe was born on December 30 1937 in Bradenton Florida and passed away on May 28 2021 in Tampa Florida. Vera lived in Bradenton and Tampa her entire life. After a successful career at GTE, she retired in 1993. She is predeceased by her husband R. Melvin Tharpe, sister Betty Ann Ware and Parents, Francis Dewitt and Annie Laurie Joyner. She is survived by her daughter Gail Coleman. Survivors include her nieces, Teresa (Danny) Noa of Sarasota. Brenda McCarney of Wisconsin, Mary Williams of Sarasota and Jayne (Paul) Spanton of Lutz. She leaves 8 great nieces and nephews as well as their children. Other survivors are her dear friends Rosanne and Tony Valdez and family.

We will all mourn the loss of the joy she brought to so many. Her kindness and loving gentle spirit will be sorely missed. Services and interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Metropolitan Ministries in her name.
