Ben Luther McGee III

Mr. McGee was a resident of Temple, Texas since 1990.

Ben McGee was born in Ft Worth, Tx on April 13th, 1948 to Geneva Ruth Myners and Ben L. McGee II. He graduated early from Paschal High School in Ft Worth to join the US Navy, where he served two tours of duty in Vietnam. He was honorably discharged and attended Texas Christian University, where he graduated with a double major in English and History. On campus, he was an active member in the Navigator Ministries and The Campus Crusades for Christ.

His professional career centered mostly around Food Service, and sales, from which he retired in 2013.

Ben loved his wife Sharon dearly, and cherished every moment with her during their 45 year marriage.

He was a loving father to his three daughters, and a wonderful grandfather to his grandchildren.

He was very artistic, and was incredibly talented in multiple mediums. He was kind, very intelligent, and so funny.

He was a lifelong Christian. He loved The Word of God, and he devoted his life to his faith in Jesus Christ.

He is survived by his loving wife of 45 years Linda Sharon McGee, and their daughters Mrs. Melissa Kate Zoll and husband Jason Zoll, and son Bradan Zoll of Amarillo, Texas, Mrs. Megen Elizabeth Gildon and husband Kirk Douglas Gildon, (deceased) sons Dylan Chandler McGee of Austin, Texas, and Kirk Douglas Gildon III of Temple, Texas, and Mrs. Kristen Lee Klaus, husband Brad Alan Klaus, and daughters McKayla Grace McIntyre, and Emma Kate Rossner of Temple, Texas, and Farrah Elizabeth Rose Rossner of Exeter, California. He is also survived by his sister, Vivian Ruth Sprayberry of Ft Worth, Texas.

Funeral services will be on Thursday, February 20, 2025 at 11:00 at Canyon Creek Baptist Church, 4306 S. 31st, Temple, Texas. Pastor Joshua Murray officiating.
