

Caroline Adams Brown- beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, friend passed away peacefully with her children at her side on March 28, 2024 at the age of 94 at Brookdale Western Hills Assisted Living Center in Temple, Texas.
Caroline was born to Bert Ransom Adams and Helen (Jordan) Adams on June 20, 1929 in El Dorado, Arkansas where she grew up helping her father in the family owned greenhouse and flower shop.
After High School she attended Sullins College in Bristol, Virginia then returned to Arkansas to complete her education at the University of Arkansas in Fayetteville and was a proud member of the Tri Delta Sorority. After graduation and a short stay in Washington, DC she and her husband moved to Texas.
After many years as a housewife to her 7 children, she established a career as a Geological Aide with Cities Services Oil Company (Occidental Petroleum) in Midland, Texas. She also taught GED classes with the Midland College Educational program.
Caroline soon returned to college and obtained a bachelor’s degree in Geology from the University of Texas Permian Basin, Odessa, Tx. where she retired as a Geologist before relocating to Temple, Texas to be closer to her family.
An avid crocheter, she designed afghans for every member of her family as well as many friends. She cherished time with her family supporting “everyday events” and ALL the special occasions. Family and friends often called her “Sweet Caroline” because she loved the Neil Diamond song and hearing it, filled her with joy and always brought a smile. Caroline took every opportunity to play cards, dominoes, and other games with her friends. She had a servant’s heart and took joy serving the church in many ways, volunteering for community projects and missions.
She is survived by her Daughters: Natalie (Tommy) Grisham of Temple, TX , Elizabeth (Larry) Honeycutt of Uhland, TX, Martha MacArthur of Temple, TX and Sons: Tom (Kelli) Brown of Leander, TX and Ben (Kim) Brown of Waco, Tx.
She was blessed with 10 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren and was preceded in death by her Parents, Brother; Bert Ransom Adams, Jr (Atlanta, GA), Daughters; Valeri Brown and Rebecca Brown, Grandson; Benjamin Chase Brown and Son-in-Law; Robert “Bob” MacArthur.
A visitation is scheduled for April 14, 2024 at 2:30pm and a “Celebration of Life Service” at 3:00pm at Covenant Lutheran Church, 4204 Hickory Rd, Temple, TX.
A graveside service will be held on April 27, 2024 at 1:00pm at Resthaven Memorial Cemetery in Midland, Texas. In lieu of flowers, a donation may be made to Covenant Lutheran Church “CLC Mission Ministries”.
