Catherine Ann Douthitt

Catherine (Cathy) was born in Kilgore, Texas on January 26, 1942. She was one of 10 children born to Jane Elizabeth (Henderson) Theriot and Wilbert Anthony Theriot, Sr. Mrs. Douthitt passed away on November 18, 2023 in Temple, Texas.

She married the love of her life, Larry, on January 24, 1964 in Henderson, TX. They both graduated in the spring of 1964 from Stephen F. Austin University in Nacogdoches, TX, at which time they relocated to Houston to pursue their future. They remained in the Houston area until 2021 when they relocated to Temple, TX to be closer to their family.

Cathy was an impeccable homemaker and an amazing seamstress. There was nothing that Cathy couldn’t create with her sewing machine and her alteration skills were unlimited. She sewed for family, friends, bridal parties and even tackled school band and cheerleading uniform projects. She also benefited from a green thumb that resulted in beautifully manicured yards and flower beds and fruitful gardens. Cathy loved to go shopping and enjoyed playing bunco with her friends. She forever had fond memories of loading up the motorhome, hooking up the boat, getting the kids in the camper and heading to many of the East Texas Lakes for a weekend of fishing and fun on the water.

She is survived by her husband Larry of Temple, three children: Allen & Shannon Douthitt of Taylor, TX, Scott & Kris Maxymof Douthitt of Franklin, TX and Krista & Patrick Kern of Belton, TX. She is survived by 7 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild.

A visitation will be held Sunday, November 26, 2023, from 3:00-5:00 PM at Crawford Bowers Funeral Home located at 3220 S. 31st Street in Temple, Texas.

A Rosary will be recited at 11:30 AM, followed by a Mass on Monday, November 27, 2023 at noon, at St. Luke’s Catholic Church located at 2807 Oakdale Dr. in Temple.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations in Cathy’s memory be made to The Salvation Army Serving Bell County or your favorite charity.
