Coy and his beloved wife, Beulah, shared an extraordinary love story that began when they met at the age of nine in Hobart, Oklahoma. By age fifteen, Coy had promised Beulah that one day he would marry her. They became engaged during their junior year of high school and were married over Labor Day weekend of 1955. Just one week before his passing, they celebrated their 71st wedding anniversary on September 4, 2026.
Following his service in the United States Air Force, Coy and Beulah made their home in Dumas, Texas, where they lived for 35 years. After retiring from Dumas Butane, they moved to Lake Coleman, Texas, where they owned and operated Three Oaks RV Park & Sportsman's Marina. Their daughter and son-in-law later purchased the family business and continue to own and operate it today. Coy and Beulah enjoyed traveling in retirement before eventually settling in Temple, Texas.
Coy enjoyed working with his hands and was especially talented at making turquoise jewelry and woodworking. Above all, however, his greatest joy was his family and the life he and Beulah built together over more than seven decades.
Coy is survived by his wife of 71 years, Beulah; his children, Ronnie and Debbie Brown and Cheryl and Tony Stevenson; his grandchildren, Clint and Rachel Brown, Whitney and Lance Huddleston, Slade and Jeanie Stevenson, and Sydni and D.J. Anderson; and 11 great-grandchildren, who will carry forward his love legacy.
The family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude to the staff of Cornerstone Gardens for the loving care, compassion, and support they provided to both Coy and Beulah over the past several years. Their kindness and dedication exceeded our expectations, and our family will always be grateful for the comfort and care they provided to our parents.
Coy leaves behind a beautiful legacy of love, devotion, hard work, and family. He will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew him.
