Faye Payne Jennings, age 78, of Belton, Texas passed away peacefully at home on Thursday March 5, 2020. She was born July 3, 1941 in Bay City, Texas to Walter Raymond Payne and Alma Anna Ehlert. Faye grew up in Bay City and Quemado, TX. She had five siblings, Robert Ray Payne, Don Houston Payne and Sandra Lee May (all three of whom preceded her in death) Jacqulyn Dee Morell and Debra Lynn May.
Faye was blessed with five children, Beverly Jo Morris, Leeda Dee Powell, Terri Ann Hatfield, Kelly Anderson Finley, Dana Faye Lee and step sons Michael Jennings and Scott Jennings, son in laws Robert Powell, Forest Hatfield and David Lee. She was also blessed with eight grandchildren, Misty Dawn Green, Timothy Ray Sansing, Michelle Johnson, Nicole Whitaker, Jonathan Robert Powell, Lauren LaSchomb, Kaitlyn Marie Williams and Spencer Anthony Phillips. Faye was also blessed with many great grandchildren and numerous loved family members. Faye spent many years of her life as a homemaker but was also the manager in various industries, held titles as a bookkeeper, realtor, truck driver, security, and medical records specialist. She loved reading, cooking, sewing, crafting and shooting. She was a member of the Texas Association of Realtors, Fraternal Order of Eagles Auxiliary and a lifetime member of the National Rifle Association. Later in life Faye loved to volunteer at Love of Christ Food Bank. She was a Republican, active voter, strong supporter and donated often. Some of Faye's favorite places to live and visit were in Africa, Scotland, Spain, Morocco and her childhood trips to Quemado, TX. Faye enjoyed her pets, she had a toy poodle named CoCo and an African Grey bird named Bennie. Faye retired in 2003 in Angleton, Texas. Some of her favorite pass times were driving, going on road trips, visiting family, collecting antiques, finding garage sales, odds and ends and crafting. She absolutely loved her niece Maria Theresa Pruitt and her family Davis and Robert of Belton.
Faye is survived by her children, Leeda Powell, Terri Hatfield and Dana Lee; and her grandchildren, Misty Dawn Green, Timothy Ray Sansing, Michelle Johnson, Nicole Whitaker, Jonathan Robert Powell, Lauren LaSchomb, Kaitlyn Marie Williams and Spencer Anthony Phillips.
A celebration of Life will be held at Le Tulle Park in Bay City, Texas at a later date.
