A celebration of life for Frances L. Catlett will be held at Crawford-Bowers Funeral Home of Temple on Wednesday, May 18, 2016 at 11:00 AM. Frances, a resident of Temple died Friday, May 13, 2016 she was 78 years old. She was born August 6, 1937 in Benwood, W. VA. to Rena Virginia (Mickey) Catlett & Harold J Catlett Sr.
Throughout her life she enjoyed hunting, fishing, sports, cooking, casino and spending time helping people.
The calling of nature was so fulfilling to her soul, loving all birds alike. Her favorite being Hummingbirds, “How can one fly so fast, but being so gentle and quiet? food for thought.”
Frances served her country proudly in the United States Army and she received several Medals and Citations: Army Commendation Medal, Army Achievement Medal, Army Good Conduct Medal (w/silver, 1 loop), National Defense Service Medal, Army Service Ribbon, Overseas Service Ribbon (Numeral 3), Marksman Badge (Rifle) and Sharpshooter Badge (M-14 Rifle).
She is preceded in death by her Parents; Rena & Harold Catlett Sr., Son; Charles Catlett, Sister’s; Virginia Mae Bohall, Mabel Lucille Tobin, Carol A. Strahl.
Frances leaves loving memories to be cherished to Best Friend Rita M. Fournier, Niece Rena Rouse, from Houston, TX., Friend; Sally Arseneau from Temple, TX., a long time friend from the military, Janet Howard and her parents from Hallandale, FL., and many friends, to include the doctors and staff that cared for her at the VA Hospital in Temple, and Dr. Larry Montgomery in Belton. Sister’s; Ruth Eileen Strahl from Ocala, FL.,and Barbara Ann Strahl from Barnesville, OH., Brother’s; Harold J Catlett Jr.from Wheeling, W. VA., William Albert Catlett from Lafferty, OH., and Dale Edward Catlett from Boggsrun, W. VA. along with many Aunt’s, Uncle’s, Niece’s, Nephew’s and Cousins.
She will be greatly missed by her family and friends. Frances was always helping and assisting people when possible. She had a very strong sense of humor and would joke around with anybody or anyone that entered her life.
