

Jimmie grew up in San Saba. Jimmie loved reading and read every book in the San Saba Public Library and ended up reading the encyclopedias. Her senior year she moved to Little River and graduated from Academy High School. After high school she worked for King's Daughter Hospital. Then got married and moved to Pennsylvania and worked at Holy Spirit Hospital. In 1975 her son David was born and together they moved back to Texas in 1981, eventually settling in Temple, Texas. Jimmie had many loves such as her family, reading books, gardening, and making cookies with her grandchildren.
Being a devoted mother, Jimmie spoke all the time about David's childhood. She lovingly layed out David's clothes for school and brushed his hair, stating this is how she expressed her love for her child.
Jimmie was blessed with a daughter-in-law Stacy Torquato, who she loved and shared an interest in plants and lottery tickets. Gardening was so much a part of her life in that she was always taking care of her plants and even named them. She was also a devoted aunt to her five nieces, spending time with them and enjoying ice cream and listening to music.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Roy Deaver and Annie Deaver, sister, Ruth Deaver, brother, Roy David Deaver, niece, Sandra Longoria.
She is survived by her son David Torquato and wife Stacy of Temple, grandchildren, Aaron Culp of Temple, Zachary Culp of Little River, Megan Halphen and husband Andrew of Dallas, Kaitlyn Torquato of Temple, Allyson Torquato of Temple, David Torquato Jr. of Temple, Michael Torquato of Temple, great-granddaughter, Palmer Murphy Helphen of Dallas, sisters, Bonnie Jandt of San Antonio, Patricia Moudry of Temple, nieces, Lisa Sova of Austin, Jolene Tyler and husband Bobby of Cedar Park, Mitzi Everts and husband Tony of San Antonio, Pethrie Aldridge and husband Brad of San Antonio, and numerous great nieces and nephews and other family and friends.
Pallbearers will be Aaron Culp, Zachary Culp, Tony Everts, Tyler Everts, Matt Ruzicka, Denver Lamberth, Herschel Sova and James Sova. Honorary pallbearers will be Brad Aldridge and Jordan Tyler.
A visitation for Jimmie will be held on Thursday, November 2, 2023 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Crawford-Bowers Funeral Home, Temple, TX. A celebration of life will be held on Friday, November 3, 2023 at 2:00 PM at Crawford-Bowers Funeral Home, Temple, TX. Burial will follow at Wilson Valley Cemetery, Little River-Academy, TX.
