JoAnn Beth Smith

Services for Jo Annbeth Everett Smith, 75, of Temple will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday at Corn Hill Cemetery in Jarrell with Rev Phillip Schuler officiating. She died Wednesday, January 26, 2011 in a Temple hospital.

Jo Ann was born February 10, 1935 in Beeville, Texas to J. A. “Joe” Everett and Helen Harms Everett. She was raised in Premount, Texas where she attended and graduated high school in 1952. After graduation she attended Texas Woman’s University in Denton. She married the love of her life, Hugh Allen Smith on June 16, 1956 in Denton. Jo Ann was a homemaker while here children were young and then worked 16 years as a substitute teacher. She was a member of Saint Paul United Methodist Church for more than 40 years.

Survivors include her husband of 54 years; four sons, Dennis Smith, Bryan Smith, Bruce Smith and Hugh “Buck” and one daughter, Susan Smith; nine grandchildren.

A reception with the family is planned for 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. today (Friday) at Crawford-Bowers Funeral Home in Temple.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to St. Paul United Methodist Church, Lords Acre, 2407 W. Ave P, Temple, TX 76504.
