John E. Roberts, II, age 74, passed away in his Temple home October 12. A memorial service for Mr. Roberts will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Scott and White Hospice, 2401 S. 31st St., Temple, Texas 76508.
John was born October 27, 1937 to John E. and Ruth (Lucas) Roberts, Sr. in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. His family moved to Odessa, Texas where he attended public school, graduating from Odessa High School. He graduated Rhema Bible Training Center in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma with a B.S. John enlisted in the Texas National Guard, serving 9 years before leaving the service as a Sergeant First Class. He was hired by Shell-Pipeline in 1966, was promoted to a Communications Supervisor before retiring in March 1992 in Kerrville.
John is preceded in death by his parents.
Survivors include his wife of 55 years, Elsa, a son, John E. Roberts, III of Carrolton, a daughter Pamela Simpson of Kerrville, a sister, Rayma May of Rockwall, six grandchildren, and 1 great-grandchild.
