Kathleen Ruth Kornegay

Kathleen "Kathy" Ruth Graham Kornegay, 78, passed away on June 30, 2026 surrounded by family at her resident in Temple, Texas. She was an amazing wife, mother, and grandmother who devoted her time fo her family.

Kathy was born January 26, 1948 in Muncie Indiana. Kathy graduated from Muncie High School in 1966. Following graduation, she moved to Houston, where she met and married her husband, Joe Kornegay. She graduated from MCC in 1984 with an LVN degree and started her career with the VA Hospital in Waco, then retired in 2012 working at the VA in North Las Vegas, NV and then started traveling around the country and internationally with Joe. They accomplished their goal in traveling to all 50 States. She also loved turtles and spending time with her family.

Kathy succeeded her mother, Mabel Doestler and father, Kenneth Graham, her husband, Joe Kornegay, and step-son, Jarrod Kornegay. Survivors include: daughter, Karen Kornegay Buck (Tom); grandchildren, James and Rachel Buck; and her best friend Chris Leslie.

A Funeral Service will be held at Crawford-Bowers Funeral Home, 3220 South 31st Street, Temple, TX 76502, US, on July 7, 2026, from 10:00 am to 11:00 am, followed by a Committal Service at Bellwood Memorial Park Cemetery, 8575 Airport Rd, Temple, TX 76502, US, on July 7, 2026, from 11:15 am to 11:30 am.
