Kathryn Lee passed peacefully on Christmas morning, December 25, 2022. Kathryn was born February 3, 1932, in Temple, Texas, to Henry May and Elsie Katherine (Doege) Chapman. Kathy graduated from Temple High School in 1949. After graduation, she worked at Buttrey’s Department Store in Temple. On September 14, 1952, Kathy married Roy Lee, Jr. of Valley Mills, Texas, and they settled in Houston, Texas. They celebrated 65 years of marriage. Kathy received her degree in Business Technology from the University of Houston. Kathy served her family and community through her volunteer work. She was a Cub Scout Den Mother, a Girl Scout Leader, as well as a Sunday School and Vacation Bible School teacher. Kathy also worked as a volunteer at Memorial Hermann Hospital. Kathy loved her beautiful yard, her church choir, traveling and family gatherings. She was especially devoted to her grandchildren. In addition to her parents, Kathryn was predeceased by her husband, Roy Lee, her sister Doris Holmesly, and her brother Roy Chapman. She is survived by her son Roy Lee III and his wife Lisa, her son Mark Stephen Lee and his wife Analyn, and her daughter Caron Elizabeth Lee. She is also survived by six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. A service of remembrance will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, January 7, 2023, at Crawford Bowers Funeral Home at 3220 South 31st Street in Temple, Texas with internment at Bellwood Memorial Park immediately afterwards.
