Nadine was born in Cameron, Texas on April 19, 1920 to parents Anthony and Judith Marie Hertenberger Hosch. The family relocated to Sharp, Texas and Nadine graduated from Sharp High School in 1937. After high school, Nadine studied at the Providence Hospital Nursing School in Waco, Texas, receiving her certification as a Registered Nurse, and moved to New London, Texas to serve as the school nurse. After the outbreak of World War II, Nadine joined the U.S. Army, serving first at Ft. Hood, Texas and then in New Guinea during the Pacific campaign of the war. After the war, she returned to duty at Ft. Hood, where after seven years service she left the Army at the rank of Captain. Before leaving the service, Nadine met and married Robert (Bob) William Wolff, and they moved back to Temple to live in a house built by her father. A son, Tom, arrived in 1955, followed in 1956 by Bob’s untimely death from cancer. As her parents aged, Nadine lived with and cared for them until their passing. In 2006 Nadine moved to Conroe to be nearer to her son and daughter-in-law.
Nadine was preceded in death by her husband, parents, her brother George Hosch of Sharp and her brother Lawrence Hosch of Wichita Falls. She is survived by a son, Tom Wolff and his wife Carol Monroe Wolff of Conroe, grandchildren Amy Wolff, John Wolff, Nichole Witt and Ryan Witt, a great grandchild Ryan Witt, Jr., and her sister Virginia Schattle of Temple, along with a niece and numerous nephews.
