Laverne M. Frei

She married Alois Frei on June 24, 1948 in Westphalia and they were married for 63 years before his death in August 2011. She was a member of the St. Mary’s School PTA and a founding member of St. Luke Catholic Church. She retired from Scott and White Hospital as a supervisor and cashier in the dietary department after 20 years.

Mrs. Frei passed away Saturday, April 14, 2012 in a local nursing facility.

Laverne was preceded in death by her husband and two brothers Gilbert and Thomas Beach.

Survivors include two sons, James Frei of Temple, Michael Frei of Troy and a daughter, Kathy Wilson of Temple, two brothers, retired Col. William L. Beach of Oceanside, California and Lawrence Beach of Manor, three sisters, Dorothy Schmidt of San Antonio, Juanita Buxkemper of Schulenberg and Ruth Jahns of Houston, and four grandchildren.

A time of visitation will be Tuesday, April 17, 2012 from 6 pm to 8 pm at Crawford-Bowers Funeral Home with a Rosary at 7 pm.

Funeral services will be held 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, April 18, 2012 at St. Luke’s Catholic Church in Temple. Interment will follow in Westphalia Cemetery.
