Marjorie Jean (Marge) Eppink, age 98, passed from this life into eternal rest on August 3, 2018 at Spring Creek Village in Spring, Texas. Marge was born April 17, 1920 to Martin and Jenny (Hoogesteger) Haadsma in Grand Rapids, Michigan, the oldest of six children. She was preceded in death by her husband of 54 years, George A. Eppink, her parents, two sisters, two brothers, and one daughter-in-law.
She leaves many precious memories to her three sons, Gary Eppink of Garland, Texas, Jay (Karen) Eppink of Spring, Texas, and Dan (Jo Ellen) Eppink of Sugar Land, Texas. She is also survived by eight grandchildren, eight great grandchildren, her sister Mary Stadt of Grand Rapids, MI, and many dear nieces, nephews, in-laws, cousins and friends.
Marge was a young wife and mother during World War II while her husband George served in the U.S. Coast Guard. They spent their early years of marriage primarily in Michigan. Together they had three sons, eventually moving to Texas where they spent most of their life together. In recent years, Marge had resided in Temple, Texas, Sugar Land, Texas and Spring, Texas.
Marge was a longtime member of Leon Valley Church of Christ in Temple, Texas.
Marge’s greatest joy was her family, serving people and serving her Lord and Savior. Even into her nineties, Marge was preparing and taking food to others, and hosting family gatherings. She was greatly loved and will be greatly missed.
A graveside service for Marge will be held on Wednesday, August 8, 2018 at 11:00 A.M. at the Temple Garden of Memories (formerly Mount Zion Cemetery), 8101 Old Hwy 81, Temple, TX 76501.
